The Mathemantical Concept of Eternity Through Salvation

Have you ever wondered what happens after one’s physical life is ended? Where will you spend eternity?

During my years as  a Mathematics Instructor at the University of Liberia, I taught the concept of Inequality many times to show my students the concept of eternity. Eternity means without end; everlasting life, or forever and ever, world without end. In Mathematics, eternity is represented by the infinity (∞) symbol. The existence of God in my mind is symbolized by the inequality (∞, ∞) meaning forever, and ever.  

The day of birth signifies the time life begins. Imagine a person whom we shall now call Sensei Kia was born May 8, 1940 carrying a kinja full of sin.“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)”.  

The mathematical representation of the begining of Sensei’s physical life is  [5/8/40, ?].  The beginning of Sensei’s life is represented by the bracket. The bracket serves as a strong boundary, a finality . Life and death are mathematically represented by brackets.

 In the above mathematical equation, Sensei has just been born and since we are unaware of the time of his death,  the uncertainty is indicated with the question mark which will remain as long as he is alive and we are uncertain about the date of his death.  If Sensei died October 19, 2024, the graphic equation signifying the end of Sensei’s life would be   

The last bracket represents  a final end to Sensei’s physical life according to Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death.. The above inequality represents Sensei’s physical life . For the wages of sin is death;  sensies spiritual life

In another hypothetical situatuation, Sensei encountered the gospel of salvation on January 13, 1972 when he was 32 years old. Sensei then realized  the following:

1.  That he was a sinner and surely heading for hell. Romans 3:23, KJV.

2.  That he could not save himself, no matter what he did in or out of his church, religiously or nonreligiously Eph. 2:8 – 9; Isaiah 64:6

3.  That Christ offered His blood as a remedy for his (Sensei’s)  sins which he did not deserve. Romans 5:8

4.  That he [Sensei] could be saved by trusting Christ blood as the down payment for his sin. Colossians 1: 13 &14. He could not believe such offer for his rebellious and sinful life against God.

Sensei immediately fell on his knees and  trusted Christ to wash away the filth and sins of his life with Christ precious and sinless blood. Sensei was happy and grateful for his new life experience (Titus 3:5).

Will the mathematical graphic representation of Sensei spiritual life remain the same as his previous physical life? The answer is No!

The graphic  inequality of Sensei’s spiritual life since he now trusted Christ who cleansed his sins is very different from someone who never trusted Christ! When a person accepts Christ, the date he trusted Christ is the day his new life with Christ begins, he now has eternal life (I John 5 : 11 – 13). Sensei’s birthdate is now January 13, 1972 represented by the inequality, [1/13/72, ∞). 

Even if he dies physically, spiritually, his life inequality will no longer contain the heavy bracket at the end of his life pushing toward the negative infinity sign (-   ,    ] rather, the infinity symbol will continuously be included at the right of any inequality now representing Sensei’s life indicating that he lives forever and ever with Christ.

Sensei = [ 1/13/72, ∞)

 Lord Jesus,

I recognize I am a sinner going to hell and no good work I do can ever wash away my sins and stop me from going to hell. I know now that you demonstrated your love for me on the cross of Calvary by washing away my sin with Your precious and sinless blood. I ask  You to please come into my heart and make me your child.

In Jesus’ name I humbly pray,

Amen! ( You could say this prayer in your own simple words to your Father).
